What size feet does the Miko Yoisho fit?

Miko says the Yoisho fits all sizes up to men's size 12 Miko. The foot slots are fixed, so the size limit is the same in every color. Miko puts a men's size 15 limit on its larger MAS 2 instead Miko.

How big is the Miko Yoisho?

Miko lists the Yoisho as 16.75 x 16.75 x 9.25 inches and 11 lbs Miko. The manual asks you to sit in a chair of equal height and slide your legs into the slots manual.

Miko Yoisho or Miko Y2?

The Y2 is Miko's second-generation version of the Yoisho, and Miko calls it "a major upgrade from one of our best-selling foot massagers, YOISHO" Miko. Both share the same shell, the same weight and the same men's size 12 limit. The Y2 changes the massage technique, the heat and the remote.

What the Y2 added after the Yoisho

Miko builds the Y2 around Petrissage Max Technology, a Swedish technique that kneads, rolls and wrings the muscle tissue Miko. The Y2 also moves to infrared heat and a magnetic remote. The Yoisho keeps the named 5-step pressure scale and the 15-minute LCD countdown manual.

Who the Miko Yoisho is for

Good fit if
  • You want a short daily session for tired feet.
  • You want 5 named pressure steps.
  • You want heat you can switch off.
  • You want liners that go in the wash.
  • Your feet are men's size 12 or smaller.
Pick another model if
  • You want your calves and ankles covered: pick the Miko MAS 2 Miko.
  • You want infrared heat and a magnetic remote: pick the Miko Y2 Miko.
  • You want feet larger than men's size 12: pick the Miko MAS 2, which Miko rates to men's size 15 Miko.

Good to know before you buy

  • The Yoisho runs from the wall, not a battery. Miko lists it as corded electric with a 24V/2.5A adapter, so plan a seat near an outlet Miko. The manual asks you to use a properly grounded outlet and to check that your voltage matches the massager manual.
  • Miko rates the foot slots to men's size 12. Larger feet are a better match for the MAS 2, which Miko rates to men's size 15 Miko Miko.
  • Water must stay out of the unit. The manual says to keep wet legs and feet out of it, to leave it out of the bathroom, and to clean it with a dry cloth rather than a damp one manual.
  • Each run is a 15-minute session. The LCD counts down from 15 minutes, and pressing the power button again starts a fresh 15 minutes at P1 with heat on manual.
  • The manual asks some people to speak to a doctor first. That list covers diabetes, blood clots, recent surgery and pregnancy manual.
Before you start

The manual says to stop at once if you get severe or abnormal pain during a massage, and to speak to a doctor manual.

How the Miko Yoisho compares

Miko Yoisho vs Miko MAS 2

The Yoisho treats the feet and the lower ankles inside a closed shell. The MAS 2 opens the design up so it can reach the feet, ankles, calves and lower legs, and Miko adds a reflexology function and an adjustable height to it Miko.

Miko Yoisho vs Renpho

Both wrap the foot in air and add heat, and both take a remote. The Yoisho gives 5 pressure steps and liners you can put in the washer and dryer; Renpho's Shiatsu Foot Massager Plus splits its controls into 3 knead levels and 3 air levels, and lists a 122F heat ceiling and a US size 14 limit Renpho.

What the 5 pressure levels do

The Yoisho holds 5 pressure levels, and P1 is the lowest while P5 is the highest manual. You press + to raise the massage intensity and - to lower it. The level shows on the LCD as P1 through to P5.

The button lights tell you the same thing without a look at the screen. The manual sets them out step by step manual:

  • P1: the - button is a solid light, the LCD shows P1.
  • P2: the - button flashes, the LCD shows P2.
  • P3: both the - and + buttons flash, the LCD shows P3.
  • P4: the + button flashes, the LCD shows P4.
  • P5: the + button is a solid light, the LCD shows P5.

Can you change the pressure during a massage?

Yes, the manual says to change levels during the massage with the + and - buttons, to suit your own comfort level manual. Every session opens at P1 with heat on, whatever level you finished on last time.

How the 360 degree air compression works

Miko builds the Yoisho around full-surround air compression, and says it reaches the heels, the bottoms and the ankles Miko. The manual describes air pressure that rises and then releases across the length of the session manual.

Air is one of four jobs the unit does. The manual labels the functions as kneading, massaging, heat and air pressure manual. Miko's page names the massage styles as rolling, kneading and traditional shiatsu Miko.

The mode button itself is simpler than the marketing list. The manual says the massage mode key selects Kneading or Standard, and that the remote repeats the same key manual.

Heat, and how to switch it off

The heat is switchable. Miko says the heating function can be adjusted or fully turned off, to suit your own heat sensitivity Miko. The manual adds that the heat rises to temperature over a few minutes, and that you press the heat key at any point to turn it off manual.

A red light tells you which way it is set. The light goes out when the heat function is off manual. Heat comes back on by itself at the start of each new session.

Note

The manual asks heat-sensitive people to watch the unit when its surface becomes hot manual.

How long is a Miko Yoisho session?

A session runs 15 minutes. The LCD starts a 15-minute countdown the moment you press the power button, and the unit beeps once as it starts at P1 with heat on manual. Pressing the power button again stops it at any point.

Turning it back on starts a fresh 15-minute session, again at P1 with heat on manual. Miko's own guide suggests a 10 to 20 minute session after work, and no more than 3 sessions a day Miko.

Does the Miko Yoisho help with plantar fasciitis?

Miko points the Yoisho at plantar fasciitis and neuropathy on the product page, and says the massage promotes healthy circulation and blood oxygen levels Miko. Miko's own guide is careful about how far that goes.

In that guide Miko writes that shiatsu foot massagers "can relieve pain from plantar fasciitis, however, they should always be combined with actual treatment" Miko. On neuropathy it says the massage can help by de-stressing the nerves to reduce inflammation. Treat the Yoisho as something you add to a plan from your own doctor.

How to set up and use it

  1. Connect the adapter to the massager, then plug it into a grounded wall outlet. The power button starts flashing red.
  2. Sit in a chair of equal height, place your legs into the slots and relax.
  3. Press POWER to start. The unit beeps once and opens at P1 with the heat mode on, and the LCD starts a 15-minute countdown.
  4. Press + to raise the massage intensity, or - to lower it, anywhere from P1 to P5.
  5. Press MASSAGE MODE to pick Kneading or Standard.
  6. Press HEAT at any point to turn the heat off. The red light goes out.
  7. Press POWER again to stop the unit.
  8. Unplug it when you are done manual.

The wireless remote carries the same 5 keys manual. Miko puts 2 remotes and 1 adapter in the box, so there is a spare from day one.

Before you start

The manual says not to stand inside the unit or press down hard on it. That can slow or stop the motor and overheat the unit manual.

Care and quick fixes from the manual

How to clean the Miko Yoisho

The foot liners lift out, and Miko says they are safe for regular washers and dryers Miko. Run them through a normal wash and dry cycle, then fit them back into the slots. Miko sells spare Yoisho liners on its own site Miko.

Is the Miko Yoisho waterproof?

No. The manual says not to place wet legs and feet inside the unit, and not to use it in a bathroom where it might meet water manual. It also asks you to keep the plug and cord away from wet hands.

  2. Coil the cord. The manual says not to wrap it around the unit.

When to stop using it

The manual lists 5 moments to stop at once: severe or abnormal pain, spilled water, any malfunction, a power failure, and lightning manual. Turn the unit off at the control panel first, then unplug it. For a repair, Miko asks you to contact its service center.
