Breville lists 4 slices of toast, a 12 inch pizza and a roast chicken Breville. The manual names the bakeware that fits: a 7.5 by 11 inch pan with no handles, a 9 inch square pan, a 6 cup muffin tin, a 9 inch loaf pan, and a pie plate up to 11 inches manual.
For meat and poultry, Breville recommends a limit of 4.5 lb, or 2 kg.

Good to know before you buy
!
The manual asks for 4 inches of clear space at both sides, and nothing on top while it runs. With the 17 inch body, that needs 25 inches of counter manual.
!
Breville lists 110 to 120 volts and 1800 watts, and the manual asks for a grounded 3 hole outlet. It recommends a dedicated circuit, and does not recommend a power strip or extension cord Brevillemanual.
!
Breville asks you to run the oven empty for 15 minutes before the first use. That clears the protective substances on the heating elements. Open a window, because the oven may give off vapors, which Breville says are safe manual.
!
Breville recommends limiting roasts to 4.5 lb, or 2 kg. Its guide table plans 30 minutes per pound for a whole chicken manual.
!
The manual does not recommend the dishwasher for the wire rack, broil rack or baking pan. Wash them in warm soapy water with a soft sponge. Citric acid from lemon or orange juice marks the enamel, so line it with foil or baking paper manual.
Before you start
Fit metal foil securely, because close contact with the heating elements can cause overheating and a fire risk. With foil in the oven, Breville asks you to use the middle or bottom rack position manual.

No, Breville lists 8 preset functions on the BOV650 page, and air fry is not among them Breville. The 8 are Toast, Bagel, Bake, Roast, Broil, Pizza, Cookies and Reheat.
Breville puts air fry on the Smart Oven Air Fryer Compact, with a basket in the box Breville. The largest of that family is the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro, with 13 functions Breville.
What the 8 functions do
Each function arrives with a preset setting and a rack height manual. You can change the temperature and the time. Bake, Roast, Pizza and Cookie run a preheat cycle first.

Tip
Each function keeps your last temperature and time in memory. Unplug the oven for 5 seconds to put every function back to its preset manual.
How Element iQ moves the heat
Element iQ adjusts the power of the heating elements to cook food more evenly and quickly manual. Breville moves that power across 4 quartz elements, for stable heat where you want it Breville.
The oven draws the most power the outlet allows. The manual puts that at 1800 W for toasting and 1500 W for baking. The preheat alert sounds at 75% of the target temperature, and Breville counts 8 to 10 minutes to reach it.
Short bursts of power are part of the design, so pulsing elements are normal. Element ends glow brighter than the middle, and elements heat even when they do not light up.
How to get a crisp pizza crust
Breville recommends a dark, non-stick pizza pan, because light pans reflect heat manual. It sells a 12 inch non-stick pizza pan as a separate accessory, part number BOV650PP12. Pizza runs at 425 F for 15 minutes on the middle rack, with the frozen setting already on.
A pizza can go straight on the wire rack for a crisper base. Watch it, because cheese and toppings that build up on the elements create a fire risk. With a pizza stone, heat the stone by itself first, then place the pizza on it.
If a large pizza browns unevenly, open the door halfway through and turn it 90 degrees.
How to set up and use it
Read the safety pages first. These steps come from the before first use pages of the instruction book manual.
Remove and discard all packing material, promotional labels and tape.
Take out the crumb tray, wire rack, broil rack and baking pan.
Wash those parts in warm soapy water with a soft sponge, then rinse and dry them.
Wipe the inside of the oven with a soft damp sponge and dry it.
Stand the oven on a flat dry surface, with 4 inches clear at both sides and nothing on top.
Slide the crumb tray in, then unwind the cord and plug it into a grounded outlet.
Turn the FUNCTION dial to PIZZA, which shows the preset 425 F.
Press the center of the TEMP/TIME dial, so the screen shows the 15 minute time.
Press START/CANCEL and let the oven run empty for those 15 minutes.
Wait for the three beeps and the blue screen. The oven is now ready.
For a cook, set the rack to the height printed on the door glass.
Turn the FUNCTION dial to your function, then set the temperature and time.
Close the door and press START/CANCEL. On Bake, Roast, Pizza and Cookie, add the food after the preheat alert.
Note
Put the wire rack in with the spokes facing upwards, and center the food on it, so air flows around the sides manual.
Care and quick fixes from the manual
How to clean the Breville Compact Smart Oven
Press START/CANCEL to switch the oven off, then unplug it and let it cool completely.
Slide the crumb tray out, tip the crumbs away and wipe it with a soft damp sponge.
Soak the crumb tray in warm soapy water to lift baked on grease, then dry it.
Wipe the inside walls, which carry a non-stick coating, with a soft damp sponge.
Rub gently along the length of each quartz element with a damp sponge and no cleanser.
Clean the glass door with glass cleaner or mild detergent on a soft damp sponge.
Wash the wire rack, broil rack and baking pan by hand, then rinse and dry them.
Dry every surface fully, slide the crumb tray back in, then plug the oven in manual.
Put any cleanser on the sponge, not on the oven surface. Abrasive cleansers, metal scouring pads and metal utensils damage the inside, the outside and the enamel accessories.
How to turn the oven off
Press START/CANCELmanual. The oven is off when the ring around the button stops glowing red and the screen turns blue. Then pull the plug out to disconnect it.
If the oven will not switch on
Check that the plug sits firmly in the outlet manual. Try an independent outlet, then a different outlet, and reset the circuit breaker if you need to.
If the screen light has gone out
The oven drops into standby after 10 minutes without use, and the screen stops lighting up manual. The word STANDBY stays visible. Press START/CANCEL or turn any dial to wake it.
How to reset it to the default settings
Pull the plug out of the outlet, wait 5 seconds, then plug it back in manual. That restores the default setting for every function.
If the screen shows an error code
E03 means the oven is above its maximum temperature limit manual. Unplug it, let it cool for 15 minutes, then plug it back in. E04 means the room is colder than the minimum, so move the oven somewhere warmer. For E01, E02 or E05, unplug the oven and call Breville Customer Service on 1-866-BREVILLE.
If steam or water comes from the door
Both are normal with high moisture foods such as frozen bread manual. The door is vented to release steam, and condensation runs down the inside of the door onto the counter.
