!
The manual says to take nothing off except the covers and the tripod socket cap. Taking the binocular apart may void the warranty, so send it in instead manual.
!

How the Vortex Triumph HD compares
Vortex Triumph HD vs Diamondback HD
The Triumph HD 10x42 gives the wider view, at 334 feet against 330 feet. The Diamondback HD 10x42 adds phase correction, dielectric prism coatings and ArmorTek lens armor, and focuses down to 5.0 feet Vortex.
The Triumph HD carries 2.0 mm more eye relief, about 13% more, by our maths.
Vortex Triumph HD vs Crossfire HD
The Triumph HD 10x42 shows 9 feet more at 1000 yards, plus 2.0 mm more eye relief. The Crossfire HD 10x42 focuses down to 6.0 feet, against 15.3 feet, and both run the same HD optical system and nitrogen purge Vortex.
Leupold's BX-2 Alpine HD 10x42mm lists the wider view, at 342 feet against 334 feet. The Triumph HD lists 2.0 mm more eye relief and a lighter body, 22.9 oz against 24.3 oz Leupold.
Leupold states its guarantee covers you whether you are the original owner or not, with no time limit Leupold.
Vortex Triumph HD vs Nikon
Nikon's PROSTAFF P7 10x42 lists the much wider view, at 367 feet against 334 feet. Nikon adds phase and dielectric prism coatings and a locking diopter ring. The Triumph HD lists 1.3 mm more eye relief, and a lifetime warranty on its product page Nikon.
Nikon states warranty coverage on binoculars bought from the Nikon Store or an authorized dealer Nikon.
Is the Vortex Triumph HD waterproof?
Yes. Vortex gas purges the barrels with nitrogen and seals them with O-rings. It states that this gives fogproof and waterproof performance in the most extreme conditions Vortex. Vortex also lists the Triumph HD as shockproof, designed to take the highest levels of impact.
The rubber armor outside gives what Vortex calls a secure, non-slip grip and durable external protection. Vortex does not publish a depth or a drop height for this model.
The glass and the coatings
Vortex builds the Triumph HD around its HD optical system, with select glass elements chosen to cut chromatic aberration Vortex. Vortex states that it delivers resolution, color fidelity, edge to edge sharpness and light transmission.
Every air-to-glass surface carries an anti-reflective coating, which is what "fully multi-coated" means. Vortex says those coatings raise light transmission for clarity and low-light performance. A 42 mm objective at 10x works out to a 4.2 mm exit pupil, by our maths.
How wide is the view through the Triumph HD?
Vortex lists 334 feet of linear field of view at 1000 yards Vortex. That is the widest of the three Triumph HD sizes, ahead of 279 feet on the 10x28 and 273 feet on the 12x50.
It is also wider than two Vortex lines above it: 330 feet on the Diamondback HD 10x42 and 325 feet on the Crossfire HD 10x42 VortexVortex.
Tip
A wider view at 1000 yards means less panning to sweep a hillside.
Does the Vortex Triumph HD have a lifetime warranty?
Yes. Vortex prints "UNLIMITED. UNCONDITIONAL. LIFETIME WARRANTY." on the Triumph HD page, and the VIP Warranty page repeats it VortexVortex. Vortex promises to repair or replace a damaged or defective product at no charge, whoever was at fault and wherever you bought it.
The manual adds that you do not have to register, keep the box or keep a receipt manual. Vortex excludes loss, theft, deliberate damage and cosmetic damage that does not hinder performance. To start a claim, call 1-800-4VORTEX or open a service request Vortex.
What comes in the box?
Vortex lists the binocular, the GlassPak binocular harness and case, and a comfort neck strap. The box also holds tethered objective lens covers, eyepiece lens covers and a lens cloth Vortex. The manual calls the eyepiece cover a Rainguard manual.
The manual states that the GlassPak harness ships with the 10x42 and the 12x50. The 10x28 comes with a deluxe carrying case instead Vortex.
Can you mount the Triumph HD on a tripod?
Yes, with an adapter. Vortex lists the Triumph HD as tripod adaptable, for a tripod or a car window mount Vortex. The manual labels a tripod adapter socket on the front of the hinge, behind a cap manual.
Vortex's own Sport Binocular Adapter fits any tripod-adaptable binocular and any tripod with a 1/4 inch by 20 socket Vortex. Its quick-release connector lets you lift the binocular off without removing the whole adapter.
How to set up and use it
Vortex sets out a two step focus process in the manual. Pick an object about 20 yards away, and stay in one spot manual.
Twist the eyecups fully up without glasses, or fully down with glasses.

How to attach the comfort neck strap
Push a few inches of the strap through the strap attachment on the binocular.
Hold the buckle, then thread the end of the strap through it.
Adjust the overall length, then pull tight until the strap holds in the buckle.
For other straps, Vortex says never to attach metal O-rings straight onto the strap attachment manual.
How to attach the GlassPak harness straps
