How the Anker Zolo 20K compares
We compared the Zolo 20K with two other Anker power banks that have a cable built in. Every number here comes from Anker's own pages.
Anker Zolo 20K vs Anker Zolo 10K
The 20K holds twice the capacity, and the 10K has a shorter built-in cable at 5.4 inches. Anker says the 10K gives an iPhone 15 about 1.67 charges, against up to 4 charges from the 20K Anker.
Anker fits the Zolo 20K with ActiveShield 2.0. Anker says it monitors temperatures 3 million times per day and adjusts power output Anker. Anker also says the cells are upgraded and CB-certified, and meet international safety standards for quality.
Anker ran a voluntary recall on this model in June 2025 Anker. Anker says a potential manufacturing issue involved lithium-ion cells from a single vendor. Anker adds that affected serial numbers hold no letter "O" or "I" Anker. Anker asks owners to keep the unit until it confirms that the unit qualifies.
What the built-in cable does
The built-in USB-C cable charges your phone, and it also refills the power bank. Anker's user guide lists the same cable under both input and output manual. So one cable covers both jobs, and you can leave your own cable at home.
Anker measures the cable at 5.98 inches, and says it is designed to withstand over 10,000 bends Anker. That length keeps the phone close to the power bank in a bag.
There are two more ways in and out. A USB-C port takes your own cable, at up to 30W, and a USB-A port gives up to 22.5W manual.
Can you take the Anker Zolo on a plane?
Yes. Anker says power banks under 27,027 mAh, which is 100 watt-hours, can be legally and safely carried on planes Anker. The Zolo 20K holds 20,000 mAh, so it sits under that figure. Read your airline's own rules before you fly.
How to tell if the Anker Zolo is charging
The display shows the remaining battery percentage, and a separate icon for recharging manual. A third icon on the display shows trickle-charging mode. So one look at the screen tells you the level and whether power is going in.
The user guide also notes that Anker ships two logo versions of this power bank at random. It says the function of the product stays the same.
How to set up and use it
These steps come from Anker's user guide for the A1689 manual.
Check the display for the remaining battery percentage.
Recharge the power bank through the built-in USB-C cable, or through the USB-C port.
Use a 20W charger to fill it in about 2.5 hours.
Charge a phone or tablet with the built-in USB-C cable.
For a second device, plug your own cable into the USB-C port or the USB-A port.
For earbuds, press the Power button twice to start trickle-charging mode.
Charge the earbuds through the USB-A port.
Press the Power button twice again to leave trickle-charging mode.
Tip
Pass-through charging works, so the power bank can recharge while it charges your phone.
Care and quick fixes from the manual
How to recharge it
Use the built-in USB-C cable, or the USB-C port manual. The user guide lists the USB-A port under output, so power goes out of that port, not in.
If your earbuds will not charge
Press the Power button twice to start trickle-charging mode, then use the USB-A port manual. Small devices draw a low current, and this mode is built for them. Press the Power button twice again to leave the mode.
If charging is slower than you expect
Check what else is plugged in. The user guide lists 30W max from the USB-C side and 22.5W max from the USB-A port manual. It lists 15W max when both run at once. Unplug the second device to get the full 30W.
If your unit is part of the recall
Stop using it, and check the serial number on Anker's recall page Anker. Anker asks you to register, and to keep the power bank until Anker confirms that your unit qualifies. Anker then offers a refund or a gift card.
